Introduction

A question often asked as we ponder life is “do I have a purpose in life?” and “Does God have a plan for my life?” The answer to those questions is YES!!!

1. God's Plan is Customized

You were born in response to the determined plan of God, not as an afterthought. Before you took even one breath, every day, every step and every circumstance in your plan was recorded. God knows you “inside out”

Psalm 139:13-16 13 For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

God knows us intimately. He knows our strengths and weaknesses. He has a plan that is made for you.

God’s plan for you is not a “one-size-fits all.” No, it is customized and just your size!
I know as Indians you understand “one size fits all”. On one of my early trips to India I was taken shopping for saris. As I had not done this before I was concerned about having the size for my wife and daughters. But the shop assistant said to me, “Do not worry because “one size fits all”.

A good example of this is David. In 1 Samuel 16%, when Samuel came to Jesse to anoint a new King he went on past experience and assumed the eldest or best looking son would be King but God had other ideas. God had chosen the youngest – David because He knew he was the one with the heart God was looking for.

When David went to fight Goliath he put on Saul’s armour but it didn’t fit because David was not Saul. 1 Samuel 17

2. God's Plan is Good!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God’s plan for us is Good. He wants the best for us. He wants us to have a fulfilled life. Yes sometimes god’s plan may include difficulties and even sadness but these are temporary.

3. God's Plan is Guaranteed!

1 Thessalonians 5:24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

What God calls you to do, He empowers you to do. God provides the plan and provides every resource that we will need to accomplish that plan. That’s the guarantee.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2: 13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Conclusion

God has a plan for your life. The discovery of that plan will give you purpose and fulfilment. I can tell you that God has a plan for your life but you through pray and seeking wise counsel must discover that plan for yourself.

Remember God has a customised, good and guaranteed plan for you.
