Do not fear, God is with you.

In this world, there is a lot of things for us to fear. We fear of crime, natural disasters, economic uncertainty, unemployment, disease, death etc. We fear for our children’s future, we fear for our families. There actually is a lot we could potentially worry about.

Fear is one of the enemy’s most popular weapons that he uses against us. Worry, anxiety, fear…can overwhelm us with a thick shadow of darkness, controlling our every move and decision.

In the midst of all this God is telling us do not fear, I am with you.

The children of Israel reached near Jordan and God told Moses that he is not going to cross Jordan. As Moses prepares to depart this world, knowing that in his absence the people may be fearful in following God, calls on the Jewish nation to do two things in order that they may experience the fullness of God’s plan for their lives in his absence:

a. Be strong and courageous.

b. Do not be afraid or terrified.

Three reasons we can be “strong and courageous.”

1. The Lord your God goes with you.

The Lord – The supreme being, creator of the heavens and the earth, the great I AM. Alpha and omega.

Your God – God generic but very personal God. The Lord is your God. He is on your side.

Goes with you – God follows you. He travels ahead, he travels beside, alongside and behind of you.

The Lord your God goes with you. God wants you to have confidence in him.

2. He will never leave you.

He – He is the same Jehovah Almighty God.

Will – He is making a deliberate choice to be with you. It is his will to be with you.

Never leave you – ON no occasion, at no time. He has never even considering of changing his mind of leaving you.

God wants you to trust him that he will never leave you and so do not fear.

3. God will not forsake you.

Forsake – He will never give up on you. You may fall short and you may let God at times but he has assured to never give up on you.

Moses is repeating this again: Deuteronomy 31:7-8 7Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Today are you in a fearful or stressful situation. Has God give you a vision in your heart? Are you undertaking something. You are afraid about something. Have confidence, have trust, have assurance that the Lord Your God will go with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will fulfill everything he has promised and he will make you a success as long as God is with you and you are with God. Amen!
